Featured Allerton Hotel Wedding Couple: Michelle Rolfe and Matt Clark
Matt and I met through a mutual friend about eight years ago. After three years of being close friends, a friend of Matt’s “spilled the beans” and told me that he had feelings for me. Needless to say we gave dating a try and fell in love.
When it came time to plan the wedding we wanted the reception venue to be representative of our personalities and backgrounds. I also wanted to show his California family why I love Chicago so much. He’s a west coast boy with an interest in history and I’m a Midwestern girl who loves the city life. Obviously we had an overwhelming number of venues to pick from. Upon first viewing the Tip Top Tap ballroom I fell in love with the space. It had everything I was looking for and Sheri was beyond welcoming.
The Allerton Hotel is a historic landmark located along the heart of the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue. While the exterior of the building is classic old-school Chicago with its red brick and red neon sign, the interiors are fresh and modern, with a more contemporary style. In the end, the Tip Top Tap Ballroom had everything we wanted: stunning 270 degree views of the Chicago skyline, modern and versatile décor, and a fantastic staff to help us plan for our big day.
In addition to having such a great looking venue, the service and assistance provided by Sheri and the hotel staff was simply fantastic. From the moment we first toured the hotel right up through check-out the day after our wedding, everyone went out of their way to make us feel like our wedding reception was their top priority. It was wonderful experience working with them and in the end, the night was absolutely perfect!
