Chicago Children's Museum
This museum offers a variety of interactive exhibits designed to engage and enlighten growing little minds. Kids can learn about engineering by building a structure using wooden struts, go on a Saharan expedition and dig for bones in an excavation pit, and climb around the three-story ship, complete with crow's nest and real tropical fish at the bottom of the "ocean" below.

Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows

Set your sights on a sky full of colorful explosions at the Navy Pier fireworks shows. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, you can catch the fireworks Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m., and Saturdays at 10:15 p.m.

Located on the upper deck of the Pier, Pier Park is a landscaped area featuring a 150-foot-high Ferris wheel, as well as a whimsical carousel and a ride called the "Wave Swinger" which lifts and then spins swing chairs 40 feet above a pond. The park also offers an 18-hole miniature golf course, remove control boats and the Light Tower Ride, on which you can bounce 13 feet into the air.
